In the past five years, there has been a 300 per cent rise in the number of organs donated by people after dying at Nottingham's hospitals.
In 2012 and 2013, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS trust has recorded a total of 17 deceased donors. This number has been the highest in the East Midlands. This has led to UK witnessing 40 people being benefitted from organ donation. In the year 2007 and 2008, this number was just four.
