Mozilla’s Firefox 15 tackles memory lLeaks

The next version of Mozilla's Firefox Web browser promises to present better memory management and important speed enhancements.

Confirming the release of the beta version of the next version of the browser, Firefox engineer Nicholas Nethercote wrote in a blog post that Firefox 15 would prevent most memory leaks that have so far been causing by add-ons, including Firebug.

Nethercote added that the newest version would considerably slash the browser's memory consumption, without any need to upgrade to add-ons.

A young Russian man has been arrested by Cyprus authorities for launching distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks against Amazon. com, the U. S. Attorney's office has confirmed.

Authorities in Cyprus arrested 25-year-old Dmitry Olegovich Zubakha on an international warrant on Wednesday this weak.

Zubakha has been charged with allegations that he had launched two botnet-driven distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks against the world's most popular online retailer in June 2008.

Nexus 7 tablet already in the mail: Google confirms

Some versions of the 7-inch Nexus 7 tablet are already in the mail and others will soon be on the way to customers, Google confirmed in an e-mail to customers.

The Internet search giant also claimed that the Nexus 7 is enjoying incredible demand, and the company is shipping the device as soon as possible.

In the e-mail to customers Google said, “We’ve had incredible demand for the new tablet and are shipping them as quickly as possible.”

YouTube introduces face-blurring tool

Popular video-sharing site YouTube has announced a new tool that allows users to blur faces in videos they upload to the website.

YouTube announced the one-click face-blurring tool in a blog, and said that the tool was introduced to give anonymity to users who might fear act of vengeance by public viewers.

After uploading a video onto YouTube, you will see Video Enhancements tool that will lead you to "Additional features," where you can click "Blur All Faces." Clicking on "Delete original video" will trash the original copy of the video with exposed faces.

£70m clinical negligence damages in 2.5 years in Scotland

Due to errors conducted during child births, in Scotland in about 2.5 years clinical negligence compensation totalling more than £70 million has been awarded.

A freedom of information request revealed that NHS Health Scotland closed 30 cases between January 2009 and June last year, which cost it nearly £70.5 million in damages and almost £3 million in legal costs.

According to Conservative health spokesman Jackson Carlaw, front line services will be affected by such costs.
