England’s social care has bleak future

Council chiefs have stated that despite changes planned, England has an uncertain future in regard to social care as services have been forced into budget cuts.

According to research by the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, this year alone, from the £16bn budget, £800m was likely to be taken.

It was warned by the group that this definitely meant that things were going from bad to worse.

This follows after things becoming evident that the government is all set to state in the Queen's Speech that it is determined to reform the system.

Bethesda announces new action-adventure game ‘Wolfenstein: The New Order’

On Tuesday, Bethesda Softworks announced the return of the classic first-person shooter, the Wolfenstein series, with a new title called `Wolfenstein: The New Order.' The new game is a re-imagined and action-adventures edition of Wolfenstein; and it puts the gamers in control of an American war hero - B. J. Blazkowicz - during the period when the Nazis won World War II.

Set in the 1960s Europe, the task which `Wolfenstein: The New Order' sets before the players acting as the protagonist is to launch a counter-offensive which has been described as `impossible.'

BlackBerry CEO: Popularity of tablet computers may wane

During the course of an interview with Bloomberg on Monday, BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins questioned the need of mobile devices; and said that, in about five years or so, the popularity of tablets may wane.

With the statement apparently hinting that BlackBerry is likely to cancel its projected move to launch a successor to the company's doomed PlayBook tablet device, Heins told Bloomberg that, five years from now, there probably will be hardly any reason for consumers to own a tablet device.

Apple's next Mac OS X update – OS X version 10.9 - likely to arrive this summer

According to a new 9to5Mac report, Apple's next Mac OS X update - the OS X version 10.9, which has been codenamed `Cabernet' - will likely be released in summer this year; and will boast some noteworthy improvements which will bring OS X more in line with the iOS.

As per the report, citing the information shared by unidentified sources aware of the proceedings at Apple, the OS 10.9 version will not mark a complete system revamp, though some of the subtleties of the new software will include Finder tags and a tabbed browsing mode.

LG launches Optimus F5 smartphone in Europe
