Google's latest TV commercial aims to highlight the benefits of `Hangouts', the groups video service within the Internet search giant's social networking platform Google Plus.
The Muppet-promoted commercial tries to convince that Hangouts service is not only for business purposes; rather it has plenty of everyday uses for family and friends also.
In the commercial, the Muppets are making use of Google Plus for an unrehearsed band session, rocking out to a cover of the Queen and David Bowie teamwork, "Under Pressure," through Hangout.
This is not the first time that the Internet search giant has used the Muppets to promote one of its products. The company recently celebrated the 75th birthday of Muppet creator Jim Henson by creating an interactive Google logo using the Muppets.
According to Hitwise, the week ended November 12 was the third-largest week of traffic for Google Plus. It represented a 25 per cent rise in traffic since corresponding week of the previous month.
But, Google is still trying hard efforts to promote Google Plus Hangouts because most of its existing users are from early adopters and tech savvy. Google knows that it can make Hangouts more accessible by promoting it among everyday users.
