While serious health concerns are gripping countries across the world, noble initiative taken in the name of Baby-Friendly Hospital is capturing the attention of one and all.
Backed by significant efforts being made to promote and support breastfeeding in infants, NYU Langone Medical Center has been honored by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund.
Before NYU Langone Medical Center, reports had confirmed that Harlem Hospital got the same honor towards the noble thought of promoting breastfeeding in young babies.
It has been known and equally instructed by various health organizations that mother’s milk is best for the young babies for developing their immune system against infections, but recent reports have indicated that a significant ratio of population shifts to baby milk powder after few weeks.
Even the Baby-Friendly Health Initiative website has showed that breastfeeding can reduce the risk of diarrhea, respiratory and various skin disorders to a considerable extent, thereby reinforcing the claims made by medical experts from the very beginning.
However, transition being experienced in the lifestyle of general public has changed the perception towards breastfeeding. Nonetheless, efforts are still being made to combat the challenge so as to make sure that young infants get the best protection.
