On the 25th anniversary of world’s first commercial laptop company, Toshiba has launched its latest laptop series Portege R700.
The newly launched laptop comes with a 13.3 inch screen, which is slightly smaller than the standard 14 inch screen laptop computer, but larger than the 7 or 9 inch net books.
The new laptop uses the Airflow Cooling Technology, developed jointly by Intel and Toshiba to accommodate the high performance dual processors in a slim casing.
It circulates external air to draw heat away from the processor units.
The honeycomb structure is expected to protect its electronic and mechanical components from damage and prolong product life.
The new technology laptop has an optical disk drive that runs high-end multimedia applications.
The battery life of the light laptop is eight hours which is greater than other laptops.
The cost of laptop is estimated around Rs65000-75000.
The company said that it will mange to reduce the cost by replacing other components available in the market, and using the best engineering skills.
With the introduction of this laptop, Toshiba strategy is to double up its market share.
