Nexus 7 tablet already in the mail: Google confirms

Some versions of the 7-inch Nexus 7 tablet are already in the mail and others will soon be on the way to customers, Google confirmed in an e-mail to customers.

The Internet search giant also claimed that the Nexus 7 is enjoying incredible demand, and the company is shipping the device as soon as possible.

In the e-mail to customers Google said, “We’ve had incredible demand for the new tablet and are shipping them as quickly as possible.”

YouTube introduces face-blurring tool

Popular video-sharing site YouTube has announced a new tool that allows users to blur faces in videos they upload to the website.

YouTube announced the one-click face-blurring tool in a blog, and said that the tool was introduced to give anonymity to users who might fear act of vengeance by public viewers.

After uploading a video onto YouTube, you will see Video Enhancements tool that will lead you to "Additional features," where you can click "Blur All Faces." Clicking on "Delete original video" will trash the original copy of the video with exposed faces.

U.S. court bars Steve Jobs’ comments about Android from Apple-Samsung trial

A U. S. judge on Wednesday said that Late Steve Jobs' comments about Google Android operating system should not influence upcoming Apple-Samsung trial.

Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple and South Korea-based Samsung have long been suing and countersuing each other in several countries, accusing each other of patent violations as both are vying for supremacy in the lucrative market for mobile devices.

Microsoft set to introduce Office 2013

According to a recent report from USA Today, software giant Microsoft will likely introduce the next version of its money-making software suite - which will probably be officially labeled as `Office 2013' - on Monday.

Going by the newspaper report, citing details shared by unidentified sources, it will be during the course of a July 16-scheduled news conference that host Steve Ballmer - the CEO of Microsoft - will take the wraps off the software, which has been codenamed "Office 15" by the company. Apple suffers fall in U.S. Mac sales in Q2: IDC

Apple Inc. suffered a fall in PC sales in the United States in the second quarter that ended June 30, according to market research firms IDC.

According to figures compiled by IDC, the Cupertino, California-based computer maker sold fewer Macs in the country in the three months to the end of June as compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

The figures show that Apple shipped 1.81 million Mac computers in the United States during the concerned three months quarter, down 1.1 per cent from the 1.83 million Macs sold in the corresponding period of 2011.

Chrysler to launch Dodge Dart ad campaign during baseball All-Star game

Chrysler, the third-largest automaker in the Unites States, is going to launch a multimedia ad campaign for its Dodge Dart compact sedan during Tuesday night's Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

The Dodge Dart is the first compact sedan designed and engineered by Chrysler in collaboration with its Italy-based parent firm Fiat SpA.

The Dart commercial takes features a Jay-Z and Kanye West song, viz. "No Church in the Wild," which was launched as a part of "Watch the Throne" album last year.

Finnish startup breathes new life into MeeGo

MeeGo, mobile operating system ditched by Nokia in favor of Microsoft's Windows Phone platform, will be revived by a Finnish startup called Jolla Ltd.

Jolla team, which is comprised of directors and core professionals from Finnish handset maker Nokia’s MeeGo N9 organization, and some professionals working on MeeGo in the communities, announced that it would work on the ditched platform, and create a new smartphone using MeeGo operating system.

Jussi Hurmola, chief executive of Jolla, described MeeGo as the world's best smartphone product, and stressed that it deserved to be continued.

‘Find & Call’ malware app removed from Apple App Store and Google Play

The "Find & Call," a malware app that was first spotted by Russian security vendor Kasbersky Lab, has been removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The malware app used to steal users' personal information and spam their address book contacts with invites to download this very same app.

Apart from stealing users' data from address books, the Trojan app also sent invitations to users to enter GPS co-ordinates, and login details to their different social network as well as email accounts, and additional services such as PayPal.
